Why an Online Major in Hospitality Management?
The hospitality industry is booming right now. Some forecasts predict that the industry as a whole could grow by over 16 percent over the next few years.
With that rapid expansion comes a demand for skilled professionals. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, an incredible 23.1 percent of all new jobs will be in the leisure and hospitality sector by the end of the decade. That’s almost one in every four jobs created in the U.S.
The news gets even better for those trained for leadership positions. Jobs for hospitality management are growing at a faster rate than the average for all occupations — in some cases, over three times as much.*
With a Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management, you can capitalize on those trends. With our remote learning technology, you can do it on a schedule that works with your busy life. If you’re as detail-oriented as you are people-oriented, there’s never been a better time to pursue your degree.

Online Curriculum
At CINY, you’ll learn the skills you need to lead in every hospitality environment: hotels, restaurants, resorts, casinos, and even theme parks. We’ve created a comprehensive business management curriculum that focuses on principles specific to hospitality and tourism services. The Hospitality Management program also places a strong emphasis on communication skills.
Your online Hospitality Management courses will cover:
- Hotel management
- Restaurant management
- Building and maintaining customer relationships
- Sales and marketing techniques
- Managerial accounting
- Hospitality law
Hospitality Management majors can also choose one of two specializations:
- The Culinary Management concentration focuses on menu planning and design, catering management, entrepreneurship, cooking principles and techniques; and budgeting for food, beverage, and staff expenses.
- The Tourism and Destination Management concentration focuses on meeting and event planning, entrepreneurship, destination marketing, and niche tourism (for example, activity-based tourism or tours to cultural heritage sites).
You’ll learn it all from instructors who have had their skills tested in a world capital for dining, hospitality, and tourism: New York City.** They embody the ideals of our program — pride, passion, and professionalism — and they are ready to share their experiences with you.

When you can do that, you create more than guest satisfaction. You create a bond and one that leads to guest loyalty and customer retention. It’s not always easy, which is why this course arms students with the problem-solving and decision-making skills to respond efficiently and appropriately when dealing with guests’ concerns.
